Innistrad Rogue Challenge

~
Happy Tuesday MTG peeps,

We have a challenge for you today - build a Magic the Gathering deck around the three cards we provide. Unfortunately we are unable to provide really cool prizes like some other sites but we will ensure you obtain our admiration and have your name known on MTG Realm as a player who can rise to the challenge.

Anywhoos - we are big fans of casual Magic and more specifically casual standard constructed. We love playing and winning with cards which may have been overlooked by many as not being worthy of being in a 60 card build. We get a certain deep satisifaction of dropping a card on the game table and having an opponent stop to pick it up and read it after which they would claim - wow - what a great card, never really noticed it before, or something along that line. Well, at least that is what we would like to hear. We guess we are something of a Johnny at heart (see our previous post HERE on MTG player types 'n' slang).

So back to our challenge - we need you to build a rogue deck (something which thumbs it's nose at the local metagame and ignores the popular 'net decks). The cards which must be included are the following . . .

Tormented Soul
Magic 2012 (Common)
Creature - Spirit 1/1, B (1)
Tormented Soul can't block and is unblockable.

AND

Invisible Stalker
Innistrad (Uncommon)
Creature - Human Rogue 1/1, 1U (2)
Hexproof (This creature can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control.)
Invisible Stalker is unblockable.

AND
Blighted Agent
New Phyrexia (Common)
Creature - Human Rogue 1/1, 1U (2)
Infect (This creature deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.)
Blighted Agent is unblockable.
OR
Neurok Invisimancer
Scars of Mirrodin (Common)
Creature - Human Wizard 2/1, 1UU (3)
Neurok Invisimancer is unblockable.
When Neurok Invisimancer enters the battlefield, target creature is unblockable this turn.

Where you go from there is completely up to you as long as the build conforms to standard constructed (M12, SoM, MBS, NPH, and Innistrad). To get your creative juices flowing, we will suggest the following aura to enchant a creature with. By no means are you required use this in your build.

Phyresis
Mirrodin Besieged (Common)
Enchantment - Aura, 1B (2)
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature has infect. (It deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.)

Use the comment thingy below to paste your deck list or use that very handy app at MTG url and share the link to your list. Good luck and may the blessing of Avacyn be with you in your labour.

Lastly, A public safety message . . .

Students are now all back at school. School is an abbreviation for an old latin term loosely translated as 'petri dish disease' which we think is apropos as this is when traditionally flu season is in full swing. Remember to wash your hands to eliminate germs . . .

Get out the unblockables, give them infect and double strike, remove any counterthreats, and curse of stalked prey for extra proliferating goodness.

Not to be controversial, but "school" comes from the latin word "scol" which refers to "leisure" not a disease.

4 Invisible Stalker
3 Tormented Souls
3 Blighted Agent
3 Darksteel Myr
3 Darksteel Plate
3 Brass Squire
4 Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas
3 Mycrosynth Wellspring
3 Ichor Wellspring
3 WorldSlayer
4 Inkmoth Nexus
4 Darkslick Shores
8 Swamp
8 Island

And If I missed a card or two, It's b/c I didn't feel like mathing.

Tezz helps you dig for worldslayer. It also makes darksteel plate/myr into 5/5 threats that do not die. Inkmoth also can just end the game on its own. The wellsprings help insure that when the world comes to an end, you are prepared with cards and lands.

Brass squires are nice early blockers. They also can equip worldslayer at instant speed to a creature the turn it comes out, and also as a last ditch effort to equip it from something with evasion to something indestructable, so you can just repeat wiping the board.

It's janky, but hilarious.
