Happy Wednesday MTG peeps,
Today we want to thank all the readers who keep this Magic: the Gathering bloggy afloat - we have now hit our 4-million visitor mark and promise to continue to deliver our take on this game from the kitchen table and Friday Night Magic.
We last had a look at standard Humans waaay back last year (September sometime) when Innistrad rolled off the printing presses and into gaming stores. We think it appropriate to revisit this white-weenie (or white / green) archetype to see how it has evolved since the Dark Ascension set had been released. A good place to start would be the recent 2012 StarCity Open Standard - Memphis which took place about two weeks ago (February 25th) and a U/W Humans deck by Rayne Gould.

3rd Esper Spirits by Philip Braswell

5th RG Aggro by James Bush
6th Heartless Lich by Garett Young

To catch the Star City Games / SCG Live video of the final game with Rayne Gould (U/W Humans) vs. William Wright (U/B Zombies), check out this LINK.
All we can say is that the U/W build appears quite strong. We are hesitant to rely too much on Geist of Saint Traft as the main win condition given that without an anthem effect or evasion (equipment / aura) this card is just not quite making the cut. BUT dang! - Once GoST has a Sword of War and Peace or and Angelic Destiny on it, the Geist is an abosolute beating.
In Game One of the final match, it appears that William may have missed making a critical 4/4 Demon token with Skirsday High Priest but this may have been for an unknown reason given cards in hand or game state. In Game Two William missed a very critical land drop from which recovery and catch-up was just about impossible.
Anywhoos - Drop us a comment below - what Human builds have you seen or developed which is rocking your game table ?

Been following your page for some time but never commented until now. My current Human deck is a G/W one at the moment (main reason for this is Asceticism), didn't modify it since Innistrad, hopefully Avacyn will bring very interesting new humans for me.
