FTV Legends Decklist

~
Happy Thursday MTG Peeps,

You may recall our post about the upcoming 'From the Vault : Legends (linky HERE) way back in February of this year, shortly after the official announcement on the motherhsip. Well we finally have the full decklist now, but before we get to that a quick backgrounder on this special set for those of you just getting into this, our fav game, Magic the Gathering.

From the Vault is a series of box sets, released on an annual basis in late August. Each box set contains 15 tournament legal, black-bordered foil cards with a common theme. Some of these cards feature alternative artwork specific to that set.

Just before we dip into the From the Vault : Legends decklist, we need to take a quick look at a the brand new card not seen before - Mikaeus, the Lunarch. This card is a special early spoiler which will be in this fall's expansion set, Innistrad.

LinkMikaeus, the Lunarch - X

Legendary Creature - Human Cleric, Mythic Rare

Mikaeus, the Lunarch enters the battlefield with
X +1/+1 counters on it.
: Put a +1/+1 counter on Mikaeus.
, Remove a +1/+1 counter from Mikaeus: Put a +1/+1 counter on each other creature you control.

Magic the Gathering players are already working out a variety of methods to rapidly and effeciently heap piles of +1/+1 counters on this Cleric to make him a Lord of Lords. We are still rather unsure how this may fit into the flavour of the upcoming classic horror theme of Innistrad but we still hope to take this to task to fight off vampires, werewolves, and zombies. Out initial feeling is that without support, this may be a bit slow off the hop and prone to easy spot removal.

This product may be worth the MSRP of $35 if you are looking for a hard to get foil Commander (or general) for your Commander deck, otherwise we think the jury is still out whether players will pump or dump.
