Zen & Chasing Planes

~
You may have heard that Wizards are starting to hold 'game day' events at a gamery store near you approximately one month after the formal release date of the product. This sort of thing was done with the latest core set release, Magic 2010 which released on July 18 and was followed up by a game day event on August 15.

Much of the same sort of game day thing is expected with the latest Magic the Gathering expansion set, Zendikar. The release events are schedule for October 2 and the game day event is scheduled for October 31. Yes - that would be Halloween which happens to fall on a Saturday this year. No rumours caught yet as promos provided but then again, we are rather far out from this date. In fact, come to think of it, we have not yet found out what the Zendikar pre-release and release promos are yet - we promise to work on that.

Also of note - Today on the WoTC Magic Arcana, we were treated with the full contents of the "Elemental Thunder" Planechase game pack. You may recall from our previous post that one can choose four different Planechase game packs ; Elemental Thunder, Metallic Dreams, Strike Force, and Zombie Empire.

This MTG multiplayer variant is promising to be a big hit with serious and casual players alike. For a great (post GenCon Indy) write-up on Planechase, check out Trick's article over at ManaNation.
