Jouney into Nyx Spoilers 5

~
Happy Monday MTG peeps,

Over the weekend we were derping around a bit with a standard format red / white heroic build featuring Akroan Crusader, Vanguard of Brimaz, Coordinated Assault and the like.  We gotta admit it was great fun on the kitchen table but we will not likely take it for a spin at OMG! Games for a Friday Night Magic event until we tweak it to run a bit more smoother and for that it is yet another card or two we'll need from MTG Mint Card.  The highlight of the weekend was of course the MTG Panel at PAX East which delivered a handful of very impressive previews as well as that very awesome Journey into Nyx trailer.  If you've missed any of those, jump on back to our previous post here

For today's post we'll be addressing the lastest Journey into Nyx spoilers & previews from the mothersite and around the web.  Let's get to 'em now!
~
Pharika, God of Affliction, 1BG
Legendary Enchantment Creature - God, Mythic Rare
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to black and green is less than seven, Pharika isn't a creature.
BG: Exile target creature card from a graveyard. It's owner puts a 1/1 black and green Snake enchantment creature token with deathtouch onto the battlefield.
5/5

Not the most impressive of the lesser Theran gods but we will not dismiss this card while we investigate applications for Commander / dredge.

Prophetic Flamespeaker, 1RR
Creature - Human Shaman
Double strike, trample
Whenever Prophetic Flamespeaker deals combat damage to a player, exile the top card of your library. You may play it this turn.
1/3

This is a really weird one to judge as we'll need to see just how conditional its conditional exile 'n' play ability may be in the evolved standard.  We can see this doing good things.

Master of the Feast, 1BB
Enchantment Creature - Demon, Rare
Flying
At the beginning of your upkeep, each opponent draws a card.
5/5

A 5/5 flying black fatty for just 3 mana with a drawback that may not be all that difficult to swallow.  Your opponent's extra card draw may be well worth it if you know you'll be beating face with the flying fry cook here.

Twinflame, 1RR
Sorcery, Rare
Strive - Twinflame costs 2R more to cast for each target beyond the first.
Choose any number of target creatures you control. For each of them, put a token that's a copy of that creature onto the battlefield. Those tokens have haste. Exile them at the beginning of the next end step.

We're loving this card and most definitely think this will win games, even at sorcery speed.

Other cards today also included the uncommons Riddle of Lightning and Riptided Chimera.  Check out all the new Journey into Nyx cards on our Spoiler List Page.
