Happy Friday MTG peeps,
As it is Friday, may we suggest you avoid continued cabin-fever and get out to a local Friday Night Magic event this evening. We'll be at our local gaming store, OMG! Games here is Barrie, Ontario. Another layer of snow may have come down again last evening but the sled dogs are barking for a good run over to the other side of the village.
Anywhoos - let's talk about Magic: the Gathering - specifically, new Born of the Gods cards. With prerelease events taking place February 1st / 2nd, and the launch the very next weekend, we now have (at the time of post) 54 of the 165 new Born of the Gods cards spoiled / previewed. Many were expecting the new blue / black god 'Phenax, god of Deceit' to be previewed today over on the mothersite, but unfortunately that'll be a nope. Perhaps StarCity Games / Evan Erwin (the Magic Show) may have an exclusive preview latter today? Stay tuned and we'll ensure to update this page. Enough rambl'n - let's have a looky-loo at today's new cardboard goodness . . .
~Brimaz, King of Oreskos, 1ww
Legendary Creature — Cat Soldier, Mythic Rare
Vigilance
Whenever Brimaz, King of Oreskos attacks, put a 1/1 white Cat Soldier creature token with vigilance onto the battlefield attacking.
Whenever Brimaz blocks a creature, put a 1/1 white Cat Soldier creature token with vigilance onto the battlefield blocking that creature.
3/4
OH. MAH. GAWD! This may be perhaps one of the only cards so far in BNG that made us have to clean the Mountain Dew off our monitor as we read the card text last midnight. Most definitely top 5 in this set so far in our opinion. Solid stats - 3-drop, 3/4 body, vigilance, with the ability to produce litters of kittehs. We're gushing with deck ideas but we'll put that off after previews wrap up and need to bone up a few decksets from MTG Mint Card.

Felhide Spiritbinder, 3r
Creature — Minotaur Shaman, Rare
Inspired — Whenever Felhide Spiritbinder becomes untapped, you may pay 1{R}. If you do, put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of another target creature except it's an enchantment in addition to its other types. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
3/4
Solid limited card in our opinion. For standard, Minotaur tribal is not quite there yet as they are lacking earlier drops. Having said that, there still is not enough consistent synergies in available card choices to go this route. We do like the copied haste token and still think there may be potential shenanigans to be had here.

Fated Infatuation, uuu
Instant, Rare
Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of target creature you control. If it's your turn, scry 2.
We're not sure what potential applications in standard at the moment - but - our attention immediately turned to cloning out a Maste of Waves already on your battlefield. Swing on in with your MoW tokens, you opponent sets blocks and then you cast this instant in response to pump tokens and create the very next wave of tokens. Not that shabby.

Other Born of the Gods previews out today include
• Archetype of Endurance,
• Raised by Wolves, and
• Reap What Is Sown.
Again - stay tuned for any BNG spoilers 'n' previews latter in the day.
