Commander's Arsenal

~
Happy Saturday MTG peeps,

In this, a rare weekend post to the MTG Realm blog, we wanted to share two items with you before the craziness of Gatecrash spoilers begin anew on Monday.  First up, because of all the new Magic: the Gathering news we did not have a chance to provide a big thank-you to you, the MTG Realm readership for another successful year.  We now have had the counter roll over on FIVE MILLION visitors!  We've had about 1,300 articles published since going live way back in January, 2008 and we still are fueled by the passion players have for this amazing game.

Second piece of news The most excellent Magic: the Gathering Christmas gift from my Brother, who is just an awesome guy and best brother one can hope for.  We died and went to N3rd heaven when we took the wrappings off a highly sought-after Commander's Arsenal.  Our brother paid a fair price for the boxed set at 3rd Universe Comics / Games in Croton-on-Hudson (just a titch north of NYC and sent it with Santa up here to our lair in Canada-Land.  You may recall back in October last year, when we first reported on this product, we did not think for a moment that we would get one of these (mostly due to the price) but here we are now and dang we are excited.

Anywhoos - here's our customary unboxing video :

Commander's Arsenal includes the following awesomeness:
• 18 sweet foil cards
• 10 oversized foil cards
• 120 Ultra Pro foil card sleeves
• 20 double-sided Battle Marks
• A life counter that goes up to 99

Oversized Foil Commander Cards : Sliver Queen, Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund, Mayael the Anima, Zur the Enchanter, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born, Brion Stoutarm, Glissa, the Traitor, Godo, Bandit Warlord, Azusa, Lost but Seeking and Karn, Silver Golem

Regular-sized Foil Cards : Chaos Warp, Command Tower, Desertion, Diaochan, Artful Beauty, Dragonlair Spider, Decree of Pain, Duplicant, Edric, Spymaster of Trest,  Kaalia of the Vast, Loyal Retainers, Maelstrom Wanderer, Mind's Eye, Mirari's Wake, The Mimeoplasm, Rhystic Study, Scroll Rack, Sylvan Library(!), and Vela the Night-Clad

The MRSP is about $85 but do not expect these (if you can find any of them) to retail for under at least three times that price - which - in our opinion is still worth it considering the included card loot and accessories.
