Happy Monday MTG peeps,
We really have not ventured very far away from an internet connection today in order to keep up to date with the latest Theros cards and news. A few minutes ago we posted about Theros mechanics and want to follow up with some new Magic: the Gathering cards we're sure will make you happy - let's have a boo right now -
~
Purphoros, God of the Forge, 3r
Legendary Enchantment Creature - God, Mythic Rare
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to red is less than five, Purphoros isn't a creature.
Whenever another creature enters the battlefield under your control, Purphoros deals 2 damage to each opponent.
2{R}: Creatures you control get +1/+0 until end of turn.
6/5
Metagame Italian MTG site preview - Well here's our red Theros god. This looks pretty damn sweet and we think not many will worry much about getting to that devotion count a turn or two after you cast this. Look to see this played in some creature heavy decks to take advantage of that 2-ping.

Sylvan Caryatid, 1g
Creature — Plant, Rare
Defender, hexproof
{T}: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
Those who enter the copse never leave. They find peace there and take root, becoming part of the ever-growing grove.
0/3
Here is the Theros Buy-a-Box promo with the alternate art from Lars Grant-West. Odd that this is not a dryad but rather a 'plant'. Birds of Paradise need to get replaced, and this caryatid is not too bad at all.

Polis Crusher, 2rg
Creature — Cyclops, Rare
Trample, protection from enchantments
4{R}{G}: Monstrosity 3. (If this creature isn't monstrous, put three +1/+1 counters on it and it becomes monstrous.)
Whenever Polis Crusher deals combat damage to a player, if Polis Crusher is monstrous, destroy target enchantment that player controls.
4/4
Perfect for a set which is expected to have more than its normal share of enchantments.
~
Titan of Eternal Fire, 5r
Creature — Giant, Rare
Each Human creature you control has "{R}, {T}: This creature deals 1 damage to target creature or player."
There is no gift more precious or more perilous than fire.
5/6
This is a bit of an odd-ball and we're sort of sad to see all those rather exception human cards from Innistrad rotating out of standard just as this is coming in.
~
Hundred-Handed One, 2ww
Creature — Giant, Rare
Vigilance
3{W}{W}{W}: Monstrosity 3. (If this creature isn't monstrous, put three +1/+1 counters on it and it becomes monstrous.)
As long as Hundred-Handed One is monstrous, it has reach and can block an additional ninety-nine creatures each combat.
3/5
If Hundred-Handed One is able to block 99 critters, exactly what is his extra and last hand doing - Come On - apply yourself!

"Additional 99 creatures", meaning it's hundredth hand is also blocking.
Actualy, for the Hundred-Handed One, it's an ADDITIONAL 99 creatures. So 1 + 99 = 100 :P
just read the text of Sylvan Caryatid, "They find peace there and take root, becoming part of the ever-growing grove.". it's not that surprising that it is a plant, people converting into plants.
additional 99 creatures plus the 1 all creatures can block is 100 creatures...
