Happy Wednesday (again) MTG peeps,
In this, our second post for today, we wanted to cover off WotC Blake's post to Arcana today on the tokens we can expect from the upcoming Magic: the Gathering set, Fate Reforged. To skip on back to our previous post on previews today, click on over here.
If you've been reading MTG Realm for any length of time, you'll know we love us some tokens - typically inexpensive to make, easy to pump, and repopulates a wiped board. The previous set, Khans of Tarkir had a wallop of tokens - you can see our post from last year over here. It appears that with Fate Reforged, we're only getting four. Let's have a gander -
1/1 white Monk creature token, illustrated by Steven Belledin, which is created by (the very awesome) Monastery Mentor. Make sure you also get your paws on the the promo Monk League token with art from Magali Villeneuve as well.
2/1 black Warrior creature token, illustrated by Zoltan Boros, created by Mardu Strike Leader - one of a handful of our favourite cards so far.
Manifest - and the return of Morph tokens. When you cast a spell or have an ability that 'manifests' a card, you put it onto the battlefield face down. This disguises its true identity from your opponents. While face down, it's a 2/2 colorless creature with no name, no abilities, and no creature types. Also - check out the cool M&M hybrid card Redditor plunoir made.
And lastly,
~
