Happy Tuesday MTG peeps,
Today on Magic Arcana, Monty opened up his Magic the Gathering bag of previews and handed out this Mirrodin Besieged image spoiler to the internet. We're thinking good gaming ahead.
We have known since late October that new with the release of the Mirrodin Besieged set are something called Event Decks. These 60-card decks come with a 15-card sideboard and are legal for use in Standard play tournaments like Friday Night Magic or Game Day celebrations. They also come with a Spindown life counter and a reusable card box. The two versions being released for Mirrodin Besieged will be released on February 25, 2011 in time for Game Day. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MRSP) for these puppies are $24.99
Monty informs us that there are "seven rares per deck, and they come with four copies of some powerful commons and uncommons. Each deck is designed to be able to compete out of the box, and each one comes with a strategy insert that includes tips on how to customize the deck."
There are only two decks, Monored and Blue-Black which is odd / interesting. Product packaging implies that the red deck is Mirran aligned and the blue-black deck is Phyrexian. We think that depending upon the decklists, most players will be happy to see this in front of them on a games table.
