KTK Spoilers 9-01

~
Happy  Day of Labour MTG peeps,

Yes, it is a holiday today but apparently not for Wizards of the Coast as they have posted on the first day of official Khans of Tarkir previews.  We're quite certain that Magic: the Gathering fans don't mind one bit either with these spoilers.  For today's post on the MTG Realm blog, we are publishing four new Khans of Tarkir cards (one was previously known but not officially confirmed) and we definitely want to talk about the Trailer which the lucky attendees at the MTG PAX Party or the Khans of Tarkir World Building PAX Panel have already seen.  Let's get down to it !

~
Sidisi, Brood Tyrant, 1BGU
Legendary Creature - Naga Shaman, Mythic Rare
Whenever Sidisi, Brood Tyrant enters the battlefield or attacks, put the top three cards of your library into your graveyard.
Whenever one or more creature cards are put into your graveyard from your library, put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield.
3/3

The Sultai Khan is now revealed with only two left to go (Temur and Abzan).  This is nicely costed, provides fodder for graveyard shenanigans and does so with some immediate payback in the form of some undead hitting the game table.  We're liking that the ability triggers when casted as well as whenever she goes into the red zone.

End Hostilities, 3WW
Sorcery, Rare
Destroy all creatures and all permanents attached to creatures.

Who doesn't like a nice reasonably costed board wipe spell? Definitely better in most cases when compared to the Magic 2015 core set Perilous Vault.  Wording appears to give a focus to Theros Block 'Bestow' creatures.

Howl of the Horde, 2R
Sorcery, Rare
When you cast your next instant or sorcery spell this turn, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Raid — If you attacked with a creature this turn, when you cast your next instant or sorcery spell this turn, copy that spell an additional time. You may choose new targets for the copy.

Dang.  That's pretty nice and will sure to combo well with winning.  Numerous Modern decks will welcome this - just swing with a dude, cast Howl and drop a cheap burn spell for fun times.  For Standard format, swing with Scuttling Doom Engine, Cast Howl of the Horde, then sac the Doom Engine to Sharpnel Blast to plant a firm 27 damage.

Ivorytusk Fortress, 2WBG
Creature - Elephant, Rare
Untap each creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it during each other player's untap step.

This card has been out for a bit now and was purported to have been seen on some promotional material - We're very happy this is real.  Will definitely want both the Intro Pack alternate art one as well as the regular printing from MTG Mint Card.

Lastly, you have got to check out the Khans of Tarkir trailer - so very impressed . . .

We loved that near the end of the trailer, we are shown Sarkhan on a field of battling clans and then proceeds to show us his transformation ability (specifically the +1 ability which this Planeswalker becomes a legendary 4/4 red Dragon creature with flying, indestructible, and haste) on his card by becoming a Dragon - so very cool . . .
