We get pretty excited (perhaps more than we should) when new Ultra PRO products get released - it's all just part of getting the latest accessories for the latest Magic: the Gathering card set.  With Journey into Nyx being released in just a few short weeks, Ultra PRO has now revealed their regular product line-up of playmats / card storage boxes with the new awesome arts.  Let's have a looky-loo -

We're rather glad to have gotten out to OMG! Games on Friday as we kinda got simply buried over the course of the weekend but especially today.  The standard list we brought along (white weenie) did not too badly.  We think there are more highways closed than open in the region right now.  Anywhoos, for today's post, let's just roll through some miscellaneous  Magic: the Gathering items (of course with an interest to the upcoming Born of the Gods set).

UPR Deck Box

Now that we have our Magic 2014 pre-orders from MTG Mint Card, we will shortly get to some new standard and modern constructed ideas we have but not until we have a few Friday Night Magic events to test these.  For today's post, we wanted to yatter about a new deck storage box we're sure that gamers will be interested in.

We first told you about the new Ultra PRO 3-Compartment Pro-Tower Black Deck Box on our sister site MTG Realm on Tumblr a few weeks ago and thought it so very cool, we went ahead and  grabbed one of these.

The box features :
• 25 Oversized Planechase or Commander cards
• Bottom Tray for 80 sleeved cards or Dice
• Top Tray 100+ sleeved cards
• Mag-Snap closure

The Pro-Tower deck box is designed with swinging front door which has room to accommodate up to 25 over-sized sleeved cards like your General's card for Commander / EDH or Planechase cards if you play that format. Inside, the bottom tray is designed hold all your dice, tokens, or 80 sleeved cards laying flat.  

 

You can use the attached ribbon to easily lift the cards out - or like us,  simply secure a petit sachet of potpourri.  The top compartment can hold 100+ sleeved cards.  Top flap closes the entire thing with a magnetic button.  The material appears to be a plasticized fiber and durable.  We'll be using this when we go gaming and will report back as to how this new Ultra PRO box works for us, but for now, we're going to give it two thumbs up.

Gatecrash UltraPro LineUp

We know we already fed you a post earlier today (MTG Realm Tumblr Thursday), but we did not want to wait until tomorrow to share this particular Magic: the Gathering news with you - another Gatecrash spoiler.  This time, the Ultra•Pro product lineup to contain and protect your new Gatecrash cards due out in February, 2013.

Thanks to a toy distributor in Australia who may have jumped the gun just a titch early, we have images of all of the ULTRA PRO - Magic: The Gathering Gatecrash products.  No surprises really.  As we expected, the art featured will correspond similarly to what was chosen for Return to Ravnica.  We have the dual land arts featured on the Play mats for the remaining five guilds (Orzhov, Dimir, Gruul, Boros, and Simic) along with the respective Guild Mages featured on the deck boxes and sleeves.  The binder appears to feature Gideon & Aurelia.  If you want to check out larger arts here, look to our previous posts 'Ravnica Art Fight' or 'Ravnica Art Dump'.  Anywhoos - Let's have a looky-loo . . .
