Happy Friday MTG peeps,
As it is Friday, give yourself a break before heading into the weekend and get to your local gaming store to take in a Friday Night Magic event. This month's FNM promo is Call of the Conclave which we hope to score at our local card shop, OMG! Games here in Barrie, Ontario. We're rounding out our first week of official Dragon's Maze official previews due to be released 3 May with prerelease events the weekend before. Anywhoos - let's have a looky-loo at today's offerings on the mothersite and around the interwebs -

Voice of Resurgence, gw
Creature - Elemental, Mythic Rare
Whenever an opponent casts a spell during your turn, or whenever Voice of Resurgence dies, put a green and white Elemental creature token onto the battlefield with "This creature's power and toughness are each equal to the number of creatures you control."
2/2
Oh Mah Gawd ! - This seems pretty off the hook here. We expect this super-value power bear to have an impact across multiple formats and will have players wanting to build around this. This looks to kick control in the tenders and boost Selesnya's populate tech. Expect Pillar of Flame demand to go up on this. The art from Winona Nelson is interesting - wish Wizards asked for this but a few shades darker.

Council of the Absolute, 2wu
Creature - Human Advisor, Mythic Rare
As Council of the Absolute enters the battlefield, name a card other than a creature or a land card.
Your opponents can't cast the chosen card.
Spells with the chosen name cost 2 less for you to cast.
2/4
This should really make control players happy. We've seen Shinx's Revelation get a lot of play recently and this appears to be a lovely inclusion for a mirror match. This seems like an upgraded Meddling Mage which is a titch more restrictive but trades off with the discount spell cast option.
~
Renegade Krasis, 1gg
Creature - Beast Mutant, Rare
Evolve
Whenever Renegade Krasis evolves, put a +1/+1 counter on each other creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3/2
This looks to be a strong option in limited but let's not stop there - this looks good to work with Innistrad's undying mechanic as well as Golgari's scavenge tech. We definitely want to work out a list with evolve (Cloudfin Raptor, Experiment One, etc.), this fine Krasis and top it off with a Crowned Ceratok for some trample fun.
~
Goblin Test Pilot, 1ur
Creature - Goblin Wizard, Uncommon
Flying
T: Goblin Test Pilot deals 2 damage to target creature or player chosen at random.
0/2
Really crazy and totally random. We're scared that this might ping our own critters or smack us in the face. MTG Realm readers can have all of these we pull.
~
Putrefy, 1bg
Instant, Uncommon
Destroy target artifact or creature. It can't be regenerated.
Whoo-Hoo - Golgari reprint. We're luv'n it and will make room in our lists to accommodate this. Art from Igor Kieryluk is just as epic as the original one from Clint Cearley.

Goblin Test Pilot only hits random when "targeting players" i guess.
This is cool!
