AVR Deck Ideas

~
Happy Wednesday MTG peeps,

The Avacyn Restored PreRelease is over and come this weekend, this newest set is to be properly released to eager Magic the Gathering gamers everywhere.  We  have a good idea from the prerelease as to what new cards rocked limited format but many eyes are now fixed to this Friday and what will be a force in standard constructed.

Most players will already have an idea as to what new builds to bring along to Friday Night Magic events or what existing builds will be tweaked with the new Avacyn Restored cards.  Whether to get more mileage with a new soulbond Silverblade Paladin in a Geist / Delver deck, or pimp that infect deck featuring Inkmoth Nexus with Wolfir Silverbond.

There is a lot to consider and we here at MTG Realm are ready with our own derpy deck ideas post- Avacyn Restored to take to our local games store, OMG! Games in Barrie, Ontario.  One build we have at the moment which may give up a slot or two for new cards may be a mono-white tokens.  This silliness generates tokens via Gather the Townsfolk, Lingering Souls, Increasing Devotion and / or White Sun's Zenith (kittehs!).  The second part of the equation is anthem effects, which until now was Intangible Virtue and Honor of the Pure.  There may be room in the 4-drop slot for an Angel of Jubilation which will also provide your non-black critters a non-enchantment +1/+1 pump.  We're not sure how relevant the Angel's second ability (Players can't pay life or sacrifice creatures to cast spells or activate abilities) may be in the standard constructed meta-game, but it certainly will be gravy.  We've call this fatuous focus the 'S.W.A.B.' or the Stoopid White Anthem Build.
Another contemplation to pas along to you is something in green.  Don't worry, we love brewing as much as playing and will get to all sorts of decks in all the colours.  Anywhoos - this green build (we've called 'Wolf Blitzer') has an aggressive profile with a 'can't block' theme.  Cards such as Wandering Wolf, Champion of Lambholt, and Howlgeist have captured our attention with their ability for a conditional unblocakability.   To pump, we've went with hard counters like Hunger of the Howlpack and Increasing Savagery as well as the soulbond-pump effects with Wolfir Silverheart.  To help us get to the finish line, there is mana dorks with Lawnmower Elf and that DFC, Scorned Villager.  Hunter's Insight should put extra cards in your hand.  Alternatively, a Lead the Stampede may also be worth evaluating.
Anywhoos -
What do you see playing in the next couple of weeks after you get your paws on the new cards ?  Use the comment thingy below and pipe in.
