Duels of the Planeswalkers

~
I know that this is old news but there may still be some out there who have not marked their calendar for the much anticipated release of the digital game, 'Duels of the Planeswalkers'. This games promises not to suck like the similarly-named game for PC released back in 1998.

If you attended PAX 2008 (Penny Arcade Expo) held in Seattle, back in August, you were treated to a preview of this.

Magic: The Gathering brand extends fantasy gaming options to Xbox 360
Wizards of the Coast announced that Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers will be released via Xbox LIVE Arcade in Spring 2009. Developed by Stainless Games, Duels of the Planeswalkers lets players simulate the Magic: The Gathering Trading Card Game through an interactive digital experience. Players take on the role of a Planeswalker, a powerful wizard who battles others for glory, knowledge and conquest. Each Planeswalker has an arsenal of spells and creatures showcased by virtual cards. Players can either choose to battle against the computer or compete online against real life opponents using Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE service offerings.

This game actually looks really good. Do you think it could kill MTGO?

If Wizards 'plays their cards right', this should not detract from the popularity of MTGO.

I actually liked the old Microprose game. I still play it every so often. Granted it was buggy and whatnot, but it was fun to me. I am looking forward to this new one though :-)
