Rise Eldrazi Promos

~
Good Day MTG peeps,

It appears that we have our Rise of the Eldrazi Pre-Release and Release Promos now in hand. We know that some players will or will not attend the pre-release or release event based almost entirely upon the foil alternate art promo card they get - hopefully these lovely cards will drive you to consider. Personally, we are placing much more love on the release card over the pre-release.

Anywhoos - the official word comes via these images - a promotional poster and on the back - an over-sized card of the Pre-release promo card. Let's have a quick look before we get to nutz 'n' bolts . .

Pre-Release foil Promo
(April 17 - 18)

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, 15
Legendary Creature - Eldrazi, Mythic Rare
Emrakul, the Aeons Torn can't be countered.
When you cast Emrakul, take an extra turn after this one.
Flying, protection from colored spells, Annihilator 6
When Emrakul is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library.
15/15

Dang - this is one very large and dangerous potato masher - hopefully you win the game before your opponent is able to collect the mana to cast this. Alternatively, if you are the one with this sitting in your paws, hopefully you have the mana to cast this or a way to trick it out into play (Elvish Piper or the like).

Release foil Promo
(April 23 - 25)

Lord of Shatterskull Pass, 3

Creature - Minotaur Shaman, Rare
Level up 1{R}
[Level 1-5] (6/6)
[Level 6+] Whenever Lord of Shatterskull Pass attacks, it deals 6 damage to each creature defending player controls. (6/6)
3/3

Sorry guys, no art yet for this Minotaur with the exception of the very blurry one on the promotional. This appears to be a decent enough red critter with leveler which may even see some popular constructed play.

And lastly,
something which came out the gates a bit late yesterday and did not make it into the post (yes - we actually have a real job which does not allow us to blog and scour forums all day long).

Say hello to my little Enchantment !

Guard Duty,
Enchantment - Aura, Common
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature has defender.

With all the big-a$$ honking monsters in this set, this is guaranteed to see play along with pacifism and the likes to shut down big threats.

Instructions - place Guard Duty on nasty Eldrazi - most preferably with something that does not have reach or flying. Now make sure your dudes fly over this shut-down threat to deliver damage to your opponent - feel free to laugh when you do this. :-)

~ More Rise of the Eldrazi stuff coming your way so stay tuned.

With all the fatties being spoiled, I foresee many a Summoning Trap deck coming to fruition.

7 years later...Still loving that Lord of Shatterskull Pass over that silly, over costed Emrakul? I love these little snapshots into the past.
