MTG Realm: Shadows Over Innistrad Spoilers 3-17

Anywhoos, Magic: the Gathering players are in for another treat today as we have yet another Planeswalker in the crop of Shadows Over Innistrad spoilers / previews. Let's have a look now -

Sorin, Grim Nemesis, 4WB
Planeswalker - Sorin, Mthic Rare
+1: Reveal the top card of your library and put that card into your hand. Each opponent loses life equal to its converted mana cost.
-X: Sorin, Grim Nemesis deals X damage to target creature or planeswalker and you gain X life.
-9: Put a number of 1/1 black Vampire Knight creature tokens with lifelink onto the battlefield equal to the highest life total among all players.

Mothersite preview. Awesome art from Eric Deschamps - Sorin looks absolutely pissed we think. Anywhoos - about that CMC - dang! First +1 looks good but this would be much better paired with a nice spell manipulating the top of library to facesmash. Second -X is only as good as the loyalty counters on Sorin, which ain't bad at six - we love that this also can be aimed at a 'Walker. Ultimate at -9 pukes an amazing numbering of lifelinking vamp tokens out and potentially the game winner. A lot of solid possibilities here.

Diregraf Colossus, 2B
Creature - Zombie, Rare
When Diregraf Colossus enters the battlefield, it gets a +1/+1 counter for each zombie card in your graveyard.
When you cast a zombie spell, put a black 2/2 zombie creature token on the battlefield tapped.

MTG Germany preview. ROUGH TRANSLATION - not final. YEAH! Go, go Zombie tribal. This looks decent. We very much appreciate that this collects those hard +1/+1 counters as it comes onto the battlefield. Churning out zamby tokens with more zambies smells like victory to us.

Silverfur Partisan, 2G
Creature - Wolf Warrior, Rare
Trample
Whenever a Wolf of Werewolf you control becomes the target of an instant or sorcery spell, put a 2/2 green wolf creature token onto the battlefield.

TJ Reddit preview. We really like the idea of targeting our own wolf pack with pump spells and receiving the furry benefit of a token out of the deal. This may also make your opponent think twice about targeting one of your road dogs as well.

T: Add C to your mana pool
5, T, pay 1 life : put a 1/1 white and black Human Cleric creature token onto the battlefield.
5, T sacrifice five creatures : Transform Westvale Abbey, then untap it.

Oh. mah. gawd. Pretty certain that five and one life is not worth a 1/1 critter token but perhaps OK as a mana-sink late game. Our attention is captured with the five mana / five sac transform into Ormendahl (perhaps the demon that Lili was looking for?). Indestructlble (!w00t!), haste, flying lifelinker is impressive.

Drownyard Temple
Land, Rare
T: Add (1 Colourless mana) to your mana pool
3: Return Drownyard Temple from your graveyard to the battlefield, tapped.

ManaDeprived preview. This does hold some potential for ramp and instant speed but we will leave that to control players (perhaps Jace, Vryn's Prodigy). For us, this is more kewl for storyline - perhaps this is better suited to landfall or some land-sac strategy we do not know of.

Deathcap Cultivator, 1G
Creature - Human Druid, Rare
T: Add B or G to your mana pool.
Delirium - Deathcap Cultivator has deathtouch as long as there are four or more card types among cards in your graveyard.
The old hermit would never say what he fed his mushrooms, and people learned not to ask.

Mothersite preview. This druid has got a lot of fungus growing on him - very questionable personal hygiene. We are wishing for a one-drop mana dork but will have to settle for this two-drop golgari fella.

Search you library for a basic land card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

MTG EU Twitter preview. Totally sux without delirium tech but DANG - if you do have it, this is a creature tutor, and damn powerful.
