Merry Christmas Ugin

~
Happy Thursday and Merry Christmas MTG peeps,

We sincerely wish all the readers today a very Happy Holiday - whether its Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa or simply the spirit of the season.  As most Magic: the Gathering fans  had suspected, Wizards of the Coast had posted some rather special articles today over on the mothersite - previews from the upcoming MTG set - Fate Reforged.

We want to get to the 'big' present first as we are very excited to share this on - Ugin, the Spirit Dragon !

Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, 8

Wow!  This is certainly a powerful planeswalker and will definitely be a fan favourite across a few different formats and will be on the radar for quite a few players which can easily get this colourless card in any build.  We like that we can use the second exile card right off the hop when this comes down to board wipe.  The ultimate is just plain crazy, and when this happens, games will simply be won.  Game fans will already be working on maximizing the benefits of each of Ugin's abilities and we'll be watching just how far pushed this card can go in the new year.

Next up - the return of tap lands - the very same common cycle of lands which saw print in the last set Khans of Tarkir - but with updated art to illustrate that the story line has now moved far back chronologically.  Simply gorgeous art on each of them -

Tranquil Cove, Dismal Backwater, Bloodfell Caves, Rugged Highlands, Blossoming Sands, Scoured Barrens, Swiftwater Cliffs, Jungle Hollow, Wind-Scarred Crag, and Thornwood Falls.

Within the article by WotC staffer Blake, he had promised the return of Fetch Lands !!  These were rather expensive (Onslaught fetches) to purchase as a single and with the reprinting of this cycle, we can expect the value of this very critical card to now be closer within reach of players with a budget.  We are definitely getting more when we preorder from MTG Mint Card to finish off our deck sets of each.
