Happy Saturday MTG peeps,
The Magic: the Gathering Panel has wrapped up at PAX East in Boston. There was a lot of information provided to a room jam-packed full of fans in rabid anticipation of new Dragon's Maze spoilers and previews. Thanks to Lauren Lee (@mulldrifting and many others for the pics 'n' info) In this post, we'll look at the newest Guild Champion expected in the next and final MTG set, Dragon's Maze to be officially released 13 May, 2013. Let's have a looky-loo !

Awesome arts first, the full card latter . . .

Ruric Thar, the Unbowed, 4RG
Legendary Creature - Ogre Warrior
Vigilance, reach
Ruric Thar, the Unbowed attacks each turn if able.
Whenever a player casts a noncreature spell, Ruric Thar deals 6 damage to that player.
6/6
DANG - blue mages may have just took a hit to the junk. This certainly punishes any player (including the player who cast Ruric Thar for not playing a all-creature build. Love the card and this should be fun to play but we're unsure why / how this guy has 'reach' from a flavor standpoint . . . maybe he's just really tall.
Of course, we already know about most of the lands - reprints of the shock lands, new arts for Guildgates, and this little alt-win card - which also happens to be the PreRelease Promo card
Maze's End

Maze's End enters the battlefield tapped.

Gate card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library. If
you control ten or more Gates with different names, you win the game.
(Sorry - we could not find a better image at the moment)

Around the new Mythic Land card "Maze's End", I look forward to the day some exploit is found for it. Looks like you guys guessed correctly on the function of the card.
ReplyDeleteI still think it is a very narrow band card, and a waste for the mythic rare slot, but I guess if everyone is getting one, then that may justify it's apparent lack of use.
