Happy Tuesday MTG peeps,
The MTG Realm Gatecrash Spoiler List now sits at 103 of 249 cards revealed, as we churn through the third week of official previews on the mothersite. For those players wanting to game on the PreRelease, we have a question for you - Have you decided yet on a Guild to play yet ? Personally, we are still unsure as to which one would provide more advantages in sealed and might not make up our mind until all the new cards have been previewed.
Anywhoos - onto today's awesome new cards . . .
~
Glaring Spotlight, 1
Artifact, Rare
Creatures your opponents control with hexproof can be the targets of spells and abilities you control as though they didn't have hexproof.
3, Sacrifice Glaring Spotlight: Creatures you control gain hexproof until end of turn and are unblockable this turn.
SCG Facebook preview. This little beauty has instantly captured our heart and we will include this in sideboards against all the hexproof we can.
~Soul Ransom, 2ub
Enchantment - Aura, Rare
Enchant creature
You control enchanted creature.
Discard two cards: Soul Ransom's controller sacrifices it, then draws two cards. Only an opponent may activate this ability.
Mothersite preview. This four-drop control piece steals your opponents creature with the potential
~Sepulchral Primordial, 5bb
Creature - Avatar, Rare
Intimidate
When Sepulchral Primordial enters the battlefield, for each opponent, you may put up to one target creature card from that player's graveyard onto the battlefield under your control.
5/4
Mothersite preview. Another Primordial - white has Luminate, blue has Diluvian with red and green yet to be revealed. We're going to MTG Mint Card to pre-order the entire cycle. This eotb effect is strong in this one, especially in a multiplayer format. Now to work on giving haste to those freshly un-dead creatures.
~Undercity Informer, 2b
Creature - Human Rogue, Uncommon
1, Sacrifice a creature: Target player reveals the top card of his or her library until he or she reveals a land card, then puts those cards into his or her graveyard.
2/3
MTG Korea / Café Daum preview. We like this Rogue. If you were looking for a sacrifice outlet, here you go. If you are lucky, you'll mill a bunch of cards, if you are not, at least you can deny you opponent that land you just milled.
~Gruul Charm, rg
Instant, Uncommon
Choose one - Creatures without flying can't block this turn; or gain control of all permanents you own; or Gruul Charm deals 3 damage to each creature with flying.
SCG preview / In-Contention Podcast. This was a Gatecrash spoiler from Sunday. It was leaked via the SCG mobile app and then confirmed in today's podcast. It's not quite the Gruul tech we were expecting but we still like it, not for constructed however.
~Orzhov Keyrune, 3
Artifact, Uncommon
{T}: Add {W} or {B} to your mana pool.
{W}{B}: Orzhov Keyrune becomes a 1/4 white and black Thrull artifact creature with lifelink until end of turn.
Mothersite preview. Looks to be a good enough blocker with a point in for lifelink too. We also appreciate that this keyrune is solid against the Rakdos first strike keyrune. We can see Blind Obedience getting dropped on turn two to have their creature eotb tapped with this keyrune being able to take care of business the next turn to give your opponent the sads.

Thought I'd mention that with Soul Ransom, your opponent doesn't get the creature back. He/She has to discard 2 cards, you have to sac the stolen critter and then you get 2 cards. It's a super win mind control.
ReplyDeleteRtc. Soul Ransom says "soul ransom's commissioner controller sacrifices it" in a separate line, the it is referring to soul ransom. So they do get the creature back.
ReplyDeleteYou are mistaken anonymous person. The 'it' is not referring to the creature, it's refering to the enchantment.
ReplyDeleteYer the souls ransom is sacrificed.
