Happy Tuesday MTG peeps,
Something of interest was floated in today's Magic Arcana by WoTC Monty . . a bit of a teaser for the upcoming Premium Deck Series 'Graveborn'. Although we had already known five of the cards via the leaked product prackaging about a week before it was officially released, we now have a proper preview image of a card which is creating a bit of interest in MTG gamers - Animate Dead. Although this card has been around for quite a bit - since 1993 in Alpha edition with reprints in Beta, Unlimited, Revised and Fourth, players would love to get a reprint just because this is a decent card.
Graveborn, like previous Premium Deck Series products (Slivers, Fire & Lightnin) will be released in English only. We're not sure why but MTG Aaron did have this to say on Twitter "The only reason we could print Animate Dead in PDS Graveborn was because it is English-only. It wouldn't have fit on a card in German". So let's have a look at Animate Dead - be in awe of this impressive wall of text.
Animate Dead, 1
Enchantment - Aura, Uncommon
Enchant creature card in a graveyard
When Animate Dead enters the battlefield, if it’s on the battlefield, it loses “enchant creature card in a graveyard” and gains “enchant creature put onto the battlefield with Animate Dead.” Return enchanted creature card to the battlefield under your control and attach Animate Dead to it. When Animate Dead leaves the battlefield, that creature’s controller sacrifices it.
Enchanted creature gets -1/-0.

Next up -
Just a little bit of catch-up as we have a quick look at the recent and upcoming alternate art foil promo cards you have or will see at your local Friday Night Magic event . . .
FNM October, 2011 - Contagion Clasp
Originally illustrated by Anthony Palumbo - new art by Franz Vohwinkel.
FNM November, 2011 - Go for the Troat
Originally illustrated by David Rapoza - new art by Rapoza.
Rumour - [FNM] December - Savage Lands
No art to confirm this yet unfortunately so take this as rumour only. Savage Lands, although not in standard constructed woul still likely be welcome by players as it is a mainstay in most cubes and Commander decks that support the Jund colours.
