Pesty Myr

~
Happy Sunday MTG Peeps,

Welcome to another rare weekend post. We would have waited until Monday, but wanted to get this news out to you quickly . . .

Thanks to warrie for the three latest Mirrodin Besiege spoilers. This local game shop owner in Brussels, Belgium received these lovely Mirrodin Besieged promo cards as part of the Wizards Gateway Participation Kit. Let's get straight to it and have a look . . .

Master's Call, 2w

Instant

Put two 1/1 colorless Myr artifact creature tokens onto the battlefield.

rarity unkown - most likely Common

Very similar to Mirrodin's Raise the Alarm. This card promises to be decent in limited as it comes down on the game table at instant speed and provides two chump blockers. Players who want to use the metalcraft mechanic will also like this. For us, we are already planing to include this in our casual myr deck.

Plague Myr, 2

Artifact Creature - Myr

Infect

{T}: Add 1 to your mana pool.

1/1

rarity unkown - most likely Common

We pretty much already have all the mana Myr we need for the standard environment but this will certainly be a welcome card in your sealed pool. The casual infect deck we run will definitely benefit from this new infect creature and we are already thinking of ways to abuse this by bouncing this back to our hand and replaying it while Hand of the Praetors is on the game table to net another poison counter on our opponent. This may also help mana acceleration and get that Putrefax out a turn earlier.

Signal Pest, 1

Artifact Creature - Pest

Battle cry (Whenever this creature attacks, each other attacking creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.)

Signal Pest can't be blocked except by creatures with flying or reach.

0/1

rarity unkown - most likely Uncommon

Metalcraft players will eye this up as well as others looking for an aggro profile for thier build. We are now thinking about this in a Tempered Steel build and don't need too much more to fill in all the slots in a casual Artifact Aggro deck. Again, another choice for those thinking about metalcraft. Also loving the new subtype 'pest'.

The proper Mirrodin Besieged previews should begin tomorrow on Wizards and we will ensure you get updates as they happen along with our crazed baseless opinions on each card - so stay tuned.

I don't know if Pest is a 'subtype' in this case, but creatures labeled as pests aren't so new. :D
