MTG Wallpaper Wednesday

~
Happy Wednesday MTG peeps,

Before we slide into today's article, some quick Magic: the Gathering news items -

• Check out today's Uncharted Realms article from James Wyatt featuring our fav PW Nahiri (love the character but not necessarily that card).  :(

• August's Friday Night Magic Promo is announced as Serum Visions with great art from Dan Scott.  Digital trolls scry your innocence to the bottom of the library by adding a brazzers logo.  (those dirty little monkeys!)

Modern Masters 2015 Edition Release Notes went up yesterday.  We suggest you skim through this should you be planning on attending one of the big events.  If you are suffering from insomnia, then we are happy to report that the release notes weigh in at around 16,000 words.

• Want some lulz and other engaging MTG-releated frivolity?  Then pop on over to MTG Realm on Tumblr.

• Lastly, one of our fav WotC staffers, Helene Bergeot announced a new 'i-payout' system for those players collecting winnings at the large premier play events.

Righto, back on track now.
Need to pimp that drab-looking background on your machine ?  Then look no further than the mothersite, where each Wednesday, a new Magic: the Gathering illustration is posted in a variety of sizes for your particular resolution of choice.  Quite specifically the following -

• 2560x1600
• 1920x1080
• 1280x960
• Mobile
• Tablet
• Facebook

BNG Wallpaper

~
Happy Wednesday MTG peeps,

We've had one of our readers fire off an eMail requesting we do another Magic: the Gathering wallpaper round-up for the recent Born of the Gods set.  To this end, we've looked back at last month or two of our daily posts and realise we've not reported on wallpapers available on the mothersite for quite some time.  Time to make amends then.

We have most of the following cards (from FNM winnings, pre-release event, fat pack, and pre-orders from MTG Mint Card) whose art are featured in the the wallpapers but really do not have the full appreciated of just how beautiful these illustrations are until we see a high resolution image of the artist's work.

Anywhoos, be sure to swing by the mothersite every Wednesday where you could be treated to a new wallpaper for your desktop / mobile device or social page.  Here's the latest 'n' greatest - click on the linked image to get to the Wizards FREE download page.  Images are typically as so -
• 2560 x 1600
• 1920 x 1080
• 1280 x 960
• Mobile (1040 × 1536)
• Tablet (2448 × 2448)

MTG Wallpaper Wednesday

~
Happy Wednesday MTG peeps,

We've been rather busy this week ripping apart our standard constructed decks and evaluating what can be saved going forward into the new standard environment.  It's really not until the fall standard rotation that we have a sense of just how many Magic: the Gathering cards we've accumulated in the previous blocks.  This Friday when Theros, the newest set is to officially released, we'll be at our favourite central Ontario gaming store, OMG! Games sporting new untried and untested strategies - perhaps Big Boros, Selesnya mid-range, Orzhov Control, or G/W/? enchantments.  Our (fairly extensive) pre-order from MTG Mint Card will be shipping out on Friday and travel via courier some 12,600 km (~7,800 miles) and likely be at our front door on Monday or Tuesday the latest.  With cards in hand, we suspect we'll have a much more competitive build.  Anywhoos - for today, here's a few very lovely wallpapers featuring some the coolest Theros arts from the mothersite.

MTG Wallpaper

~
Happy Thursday MTG peeps,

We will eventually get around to posting some new or modified Magic: the Gathering builds we're brewing and intending on taking to Friday Night Magic featuring slick new cards from Dragon's Maze, just don't expect those pro-player builds like Reanimator, Jund, or Bant Auras.

Anywhoos, we think it time to get around to another post featuring some of the incredible / amazing card art Wizards of the Coast had commissioned for Dragon's Maze set or the Return to Ravnica block.  Let's go . . .

Thursday MTG Miscellaneous

~
Happy Thursday MTG peeps,

Welcome to another daily post here to MTG Realm - and expect quite a few more as we yatter about Dragon's Maze PreRelease stories and impact of this newest card set in standard and other play formats.  We'll try our best to get to our local Gamery Shoope, OMG! Games here in Barrie, Ontario to report back to you but we're not altogether sure we can make it yet - explanation below.

Some terrible news first though . . . Unfortunately we will be cut off from all manner of civilization all next week as we head into the Nothern Ontario wilderness - which happens not to have any internet connection at all.  So please excuse the lack of daily derp from MTG Realm here and our other sites.  We'll miss you but promise to be back in more or less one piece (if the bears and wolves behave).

Anywhoos - let's get on to today's offerings !
~

WotC Trick Jarrett over on the mothersite dropped the next few FNM promos we can expect for May, June and July 2013 including the foil promo 'All is Dust' which is named to be the upcoming Grand Prix promo starting in June this year.

MTG Gatecrash Wallpapers

~
Happy Wednesday MTG peeps,

We were going to talk about how some of the new Gatecrash cards and how they might fit into our existing standard constructed decks but then we lost concentration (Look! A kitteh!) - so we'll save that up perhaps for tomorrow and perhaps even put another few videos out after all our awesome preorders come in from MTG Mint Card.

For today however, we'll do a quick round-up of some very beautiful Magic: the Gathering Gatecrash wallpaper recently posted to the mothersite.  As an aside, we're glad not to have overly smexy wallpaper like Skyknight Legionnaire with the chest-canons or overly gruesome wallpaper like the squirty Primal Visitation - thanks Wizards - just lovely / interesting art like these.
